Become a Trainer

If you are an experienced qualified acupuncturist in your own country, and you want to spend a rewarding 2 weeks in Africa teaching others how to use acupuncture to relieve pain and suffering, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for qualified acupuncturists who are willing to travel to Africa and be trainers. To support this important work, you are required to raise the money to pay for your travel costs, but value of the experience is priceless.

All applicants are screened to ensure good fit and skills. If you are accepted, we will provide as much help and training as you need for you to feel comfortable with the Project's material and teaching methods.

The training methods used by the Project involve didactic learning and close supervision. Teams of 4 to 6 travel each time and always include an experienced trainer. Trainings often include visiting the trainees' clinics, which serves as an excellent opportunity for you to learn about healthcare in Africa.

Trainers are responsible for raising funds to cover the cost of their airfare to the host African country plus $3,000 for all in-country expenses and a portion of the training cost. Participation in trainings before or following work in the host country will incur additional costs. PAAP can provide informational materials about the project and consultation to help make your fundraising efforts successful.
